Distributed Power Generation System

Distributed Power Generation System is an approach that employs small-scale technologies to produce electricity close to the end users of power. DPGS technologies often consist of modular (and sometimes renewable-energy) generators, and they offer a number of potential benefits, provide lower-cost electricity and higher power reliability and security with fewer environmental consequences than can traditional power generators.

Distributed Power Generation System generate clean, renewable electricity on site, where that energy will be used. The term distributed generation distinguishes these systems from the large, centralized power plants that provide the vast majority of the nation’s power. Distributed renewable energy systems can take many forms, including geothermal systems, micro-hydroelectric systems, solar panels and wind turbines.
